They had both been turned down for romantic relationships. Caleb is eager to start over, but will Tito's baggage and difference in age prevent them from having another chance at love?

My Review:

I want to start by saying the Flower series have very beautiful covers and this one is no exception. Pink is one of my favourite colours so putting that together with flowers makes a very captivating sight. I was looking forward to reading this story because Tito Jacob's character has always been interesting. In books 1 and 2 of this series, we met Tito when she was not at her best, so I was interested to see her story would unfold in this book.

It was interesting to see the life of Tito as a lifestyle influencer and all the pressures and logistics that come with a career like that. That's not something I've seen so much in books so it was definitely unique. Tito deals with so many things in this book including grief, unrequited love and also parental abandonment. And of course, instead of running to God to find herself and heal, she resists everything and everyone who tries to show her the way. However, God has other plans and as Tito unravels more secrets about herself and her identity, she slowly discovers that her life is a mess and in order to truly heal from her past hurts, she needs a Saviour.

The book also introduces Caleb Doherty who we had met briefly in one of the author's novellas. Caleb also struggles with unrequited love and in this book, he tries to make amends for the bridges he burnt. I loved the insight into all the projects he was working on both with his father's company and the personal vision God gave him even when he faced opposition.

I loved the themes of redemption covered especially with Tito's story. It goes to show that there is no mess God cannot fix. When it comes to sharing the gospel with our friends, the seeds we plant can go a long way to make a difference and you never know when God will use that to work on their heart. So if you have any loved ones who are not saved, keep ministering to them and don't give up.

The romance in this book was quite short-lived. It seems to be a recurring pattern in the Flower series where the characters don't get together until the very end. So this book is perfect for those who enjoy slow burn romance. I wished we had more scenes of Tito and Caleb together before the book ended. There was also a revelation at the end of the book that I thought could have been addressed more. This made the ending feel a bit abrupt and left me wanting more out of the story.

That being said, I certainly enjoyed this story more than I did the story for book 2, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did book 1 in this series. I reviewed book 1, Brown Roses a while ago and if you'd like to read it, then you can click the link here.

Strawberry Sunflowers is available now on a wide range of online platforms including Amazon and Selar.
